INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ISO 13209-4:2021

Road vehicles — Open Test sequence eXchange format (OTX) —

Part 4: Expanded extensions interface definition

1 Scope

This document defines the Open Test sequence eXchange (OTX) additional extension requirements and data model specifications.

The requirements are derived from the use cases described in ISO 132091‑ . They are listed in Clause 4.

The data model specification aims at an exhaustive definition of all features of the OTX extensions which have been implemented to satisfy the requirements. This document establishes rules for the syntactical entities of each extension. Each of these syntactical entities is accompanied by semantic rules which determine how OTX documents containing extension features are to be interpreted. The syntax rules are provided by UML class diagrams and XML schemas, whereas the semantics are given by UML activity diagrams and prose definitions.

4 Requirements

4.1 Basic principles for requirements definition

Some basic principles have been established as a guideline to define the OTX requirements.

a) OTX requirements specify the conditions that the OTX data model and format shall satisfy.

b) All stakeholders (system suppliers, OEMs, tool suppliers), which offer test procedures are expected to implement and follow the requirements of this document.

The content of OTX documents and the quality of the information is the responsibility of the originator.

4.2 Requirement listing

4.2.1 Assertion requirements

4.2.1.1 A01 – Add assertions to OTX procedures to verify correctness

Rationale: It shall be possible to include actions which verify that preconditions and/or postcon‑

ditions are true.

Description: During development time, a failing assertion indicates that a programming mistake has been made.

4.2.2 BlackBox requirements

4.2.2.1 BB01 – Transport unknown data types

Rationale: It shall be possible to include actions which verify that preconditions and/or postcon‑

ditions are true.

Description: It can be necessary to transport values of unknown data types in OTX. For example a user-specific extension needs to handle such values or a method of an external service provider that has properties of unknown complex data types.

4.2.3 BusMonitoring requirements

4.2.3.1 BM01 – Bus monitoring

Rationale: It shall be possible to monitor a bus system like CAN.

Description: Frames on a connected bus shall be accessible for using signal data on the monitored bus.
